It is well understood that loading the body in an ineffective position can lead to injury. This session will explore key assessments to identify clients at risk due to imbalances or misalignments in their movement patterns.
Participants will learn how to measure and assess weight shift, identify conditions such as Morton’s foot and structural scoliosis, and understand their impact on the body’s kinetic chain. The session will also cover methods for testing hip versions and how these variations influence exercise prescription. Through a practical approach, participants will gain the knowledge and tools to create training programs to ensure that clients are loaded safely and effectively, minimising the risk of injury while maximising performance.
Learning Outcomes:
– Understand how to measure weight shift and understand the implications of an imbalanced weight distribution
– Learn how to identify a Morton’s foot and its effect on the kinetic chain
– Gain knowledge on testing for hip versions and their implications for exercise prescription
– Identify structural scoliosis and understand its impact on exercise prescription
